“I recently used the Ezy-Lifter demolition tool on a relatively new exterior deck that required demolishing to make way for landscaping improvements. I was concerned the job would take a considerable amount of time as the decking boards were in good condition and the deck had been hand nailed. So I organised two men to assist with the demolition.

After a quick explanation and instructions on how to use the Ezy-Lifter, I went to work ripping up the decking. Wow, I was surprised at how easily the boards pulled away from the substructure and how quickly the job was being done. Within a short time I sent both men home as it became a one man job. No bending and prying with a crow bar, just a pull back on the handle and three boards popped up.

I finished pulling up this 30m² deck in under I hour. I was so excited I took to the floor joists and discovered it also worked on ripping out the floor joists that had been triple gripped to the bearers. No cutting with an angle grinder or using a power saw at unsafe angle to cut the joists from the bearer.

I was told the recommended retail price for this tool is expected to be about $150 and thought that this was a worthwhile investment. It paid for itself with the savings from not having to pay for extra men to assist with the job had it been carried out in a more traditional way.

“We were pleasantly surprised by the ease of use and versatility of the EZY-LIFTER when we were invited to use it on a demolition job of ours. The easy grip handle and lightness of the tool made it easier to use without impairing the strength needed to pull old floor boards away from their joists.

We were particularly impressed with the rubber sleeve which can be slid over the metal jaw to prevent damage to soft timber such as pine. In the past we have had to have a steel floor puller made to order which are expensive and crudely designed: they have no rubber grip, they are heavy, and the jaws aren’t bevelled like the EZY-LIFTER which allows you to remove narrower timbers and the very last board without breaking it.

Whilst we stayed true to original specifications the project required the replacement of 80% of floorboards and all of the external decking. This equated to a considerable square metreage - I had allocated a week's labour for two people to effect the removal of floor and decking material.

Marc asked me to try his product and I agreed, supplying one tool to the project team.
